MUSIC MINISTRY at IHM
Psalms 9:2 I will sing with joy because of You. I will sing praise to You, Almighty God.
The Second Vatican Council's Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (n.112) speaks of the "ministerial" rather than incidental function of music. A 1972 document by the U.S. Bishops' Committee on the Liturgy, "Music in Catholic Worship," speaks of the importance of singing acclamations, processional songs, responsories psalms, and chants. It also highlights the importance of congregational song, rather than the past emphasis placed on chants by the priest.
The Music ministry at IHM is at the service of divine worship. It is the mission of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Choirs and music ministries to provide appropriate music for any Mass, retreat, program, function, or gathering.
The members of the parish are highly encouraged to join the choir of their choice and sing praise to the Lord.

La Constitución sobre la Sagrada Liturgia del Concilio Vaticano II (n. 112) habla de la función «ministerial» de la música, más que de una función incidental. Un documento de 1972 del Comité de Obispos de los Estados Unidos para la Liturgia, «Music in Catholic Worship», destaca la importancia de cantar aclamaciones, cantos procesionales, salmos responsoriales y cantos litúrgicos. También subraya la importancia del canto congregacional, en lugar del énfasis anterior puesto en los cantos interpretados solo por el sacerdote.
El ministerio de Música en IHM está al servicio del culto divino. Es la misión de los coros y ministerios de música de la Iglesia del Inmaculado Corazón de María proporcionar música apropiada para cualquier Misa, retiro, programa, función o reunión.
Se anima encarecidamente a los miembros de la parroquia a unirse al coro de su preferencia y cantar alabanzas al Señor.
