The Sacrament of Baptism
The sacrament of baptism is the basis of all Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door that gives access to the other sacraments. Baptism ushers us into the divine life, cleanses us from original sin, personal sin, and initiates us as members of the Christian community. It is the foundation for sacramental life and God’s most beautiful and magnificent gift. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God. Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and the Word of God. It can also be liberating and bring peace to the soul.
El sacramento del bautismo es la base de toda vida Cristiana, la entrada a la vida en el Espíritu y la puerta que nos da acceso a los otros sacramentos. El Bautismo nos introduce dentro de la vida divina, nos limpia del pecado original, pecados personales y nos inicia como miembros de la comunidad Cristiana. Este es el fundamento de la vida sacramental y es el más hermoso y magnífico regalo de Dios. Mediante el Bautismo somos liberados del pecado y renacemos como criaturas de Dios. El Bautismo es el sacramento de renacimiento por medio del agua y la Palabra de Dios.
